The Molecular Structure Of Plastics
- Mar 08, 2018 -

There are two basic types: the first is linear structure, the polymer with this structure is called linear macromolecule; the second type is the body structure, which has the structure of macromolecular compounds called body polymers. Some polymers with branched chains, called branched-chain polymers, belong to linear structure. Some polymers, although there is cross-linking between the molecules, but less cross-linking, known as the reticular structure, belong to the body structure.

Two different structures, showing two opposite performance. Linear structure, heating can melt, hardness and brittleness of small characteristics. The body structure is of great hardness and brittleness. Plastic is the structure of two polymers have, made of linear polymers are thermoplastic, made from the body of the polymer is thermosetting plastic.
